aboutTheodora Byrne is a session vocalist, keyboard player, arranger, musical director, and choir director based in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently playing keyboards and singing backing vocals for James Vincent McMorrow, Saint Sister, and Sorcha Richardson
In 2020, she established the Theodora Byrne Ensemble, a mixed-voice contemporary choir, and has collaborated virtually with Irish artists such as Lisa Hannigan, Bell X1, Wallis Bird, Saint Sister, Ciaran Lavery and Maria Kelly. The Ensemble made their in-person debut performing with Bell X1on RTE's The Heart of Saturday Night in July 2021, and were also featured alongside Bell X1 on Other Voices' Christmas production Other Voices: Home in the Guinness Storehouse in December 2021. Theodora is currently musical director for Dublin based community choir Playlist, and lectures part-time in BIMM Institute Dublin. Theodora has played in prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Dublin's Olympia Theatre, London's Roundhouse Theatre, New York's Webster Hall, and Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre. She has performed at world renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Bennicassim, Other Voices, Outside Lands, Electric Picnic and The Roots Picnic. Theodora's television appearances include 'Later...with Jools Holland' and 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'. Theodora has also played and sang with The Coronas, Aimee, Mary Black, Roisin O, Planet Parade, Nile St. James, Sinead White, CC Brez, Jaxson, and the Turning Pirate Mix Tape House Band, among others. |
